How Do You Keep In Touch?
It's funny how your preconceived ideas can prevent you from trying a new way to keep in touch. I made this mistake with Twitter. I did not see the value of reaching out to people outside my comfort zone and neglected to jump on the band wagon until this year. Once I discovered how Twitter could help me connect with others, I actively used it to meet others who share my passion for writing. I went from 12 followers at the beginning of this year to nearly 500 as of today. Twitter has become my number one method for contacting my friends who Tweet. It's lightning fast and the responses are usually faster than sending email.
This blog is also a great way to keep in touch. It may not be as personal as face-to-face contact, however, it's a great way for me to reach friends and family who are not close to me geographically. Most of my family members don't have the same passion for writing that bistro members and guest have, however, they still want to know about my writing efforts and they can check in at their convenience.
How do you keep in touch with your readers? Do you sent out newsletters or email updates? How do you use social media to reach out to your audience.
